Dios Apate serves as an instrumental interlude that goes had in hand with Mistress.
A lot of the lyrics and visual ideas behind "Mistress" where inspired by a scene in the ancient greek's "The Illiad" (written by Homer) in which Hera seduces Zues. That scene itself was referred to as "Dios Apate' which roughly translates to "the Deception of god"...or in the books case.."the Deception of Zues".
Recording was not originally meant for the LP but was added in to compliment Mistress when listening to the LP in chronological song order.
Track was developed by adding multiple layers of guitar tracks.
